What Our Guests Say
An accommodation to be improved on
We stayed here from 17 to 20 May and had a pleasant, relaxed stay overall. The accommodation was comfortable, and we appreciated many of the thoughtful amenities provided. That said, there are a few areas that could be improved for future guests.
One issue we noticed was a fairly strong sewage or drainage smell in the bathroom. We were not sure whether this was due to the weather, dampness, or possibly mould in the piping, but it was quite noticeable. The air conditioning was also slightly noisy at night. Since the weather was already cold enough, a fan might be a useful alternative, as we only used the air conditioning at a higher temperature to balance the cold air outside.
The TV box remote was not working, so it may be worth checking or replacing it. It was not a major issue for us, as the excellent Wi-Fi allowed us to connect our laptop to the TV via HDMI and watch movies directly. We also noticed that the area under the bed had not been cleaned thoroughly, as there were a few wrappers left behind. It would be appreciated if cleaning could be done more carefully, especially in less visible areas.
The fridge was not cold enough, as our ice cream and some frozen food items did not freeze properly. It would also have been helpful to have a cloth for wiping tables and countertops, as we ended up using toilet roll to clean the surfaces. Additional floor mats would also be useful, as the place can get dusty quite easily, and the damp surroundings often lead to wet footprints.
On the positive side, the host and management were very helpful, responsive, and communicated quickly, especially when we had to check in late. The parking facilities were good, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and the stay was very peaceful with no noise at night.
We also really appreciated the multicooker provided, as it allowed us to prepare small meals. A microwave would make the kitchen even more convenient. The strong hairdryer was a nice addition, and having three bins, including a covered one, made it easy to keep the place clean and dispose of rubbish properly.
One of the biggest highlights was that all the taps and the shower had very good hot water, which made the stay especially comfortable in the cold weather. We also appreciated the generous supply of tissues, the soft pillows, the ample blankets, the comfortable bed, and the thick blanket, all of which helped us sleep well. The cutlery provided was clean and made it easy for us to enjoy meals comfortably. A pair of scissors would also be a useful addition.
Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. With a few improvements to maintenance, cleaning, and some small household additions, this accommodation would be even better for future guests.
